Interesting discussion last night about how to keep cool using secure night time ventilation to make use of the lower temperatures overnight to dump heat, which is modelled in Passivhaus through the PHPP software and seems that the Building Regulations have finally caught up with the new Part O.  Ideally as large as possible openings are required in all rooms, especially bedrooms and ideally with openings on top and bottom floors.   But critically, openings need to be secure from unwanted guests and weather so rooflights with rain sensors are affective and ground floor windows with (aesthetically pleasing) louvres but it all needs to be carefully planned (another good reason for mandatory whole house plans across the board!).

No meeting in August as people are often away so hopefully see everyone on Wednesday 14th September.
