The twin stud timber external walls to the upper floors are clad internally with an air and vapour tight board and taped to stop air movement, reducing heat loss and safeguarding the building fabric from moisture damage. Where floor joists run parallel to walls, the boards are taken through the floor void to simplify airtightness detailing (as shown).
